Final points.—Harewood IL Carlton 9J. Burnside 9. Rawhiti 81. Cranmer 7£, University Digbys 3. Aranui 2. Harewood 2, Burnside 1

The Harewood forwards, although dominant, lost much possession through lack of control. They exploited the weaker right side of the Burnside defence, but good saves by the goalie, Elaine Jensen, kept the scoring down. At half-time Harewood led 1-0 from a goal by Linda Aldridge, who dribbled down the left flank, beat two defenders and with a well timed hit gave the goalie no chance. The Burnside forwards played as individuals, and even though their attacks looked potentially dangerous. good defence by Wendy Stock and Maureen Rankin prevented shots at goal.

Lyn Schulz put Ha re wood further into the lead with a sound shot from a corner. Bumside's goal was well deserved, as it came close to scoring on several occasions. Helen Denny dodged several defenders and with a high scoop lifted the ball over the goalie’s head. At this stage the game came alive, but Ha re wood was able to hold on and finish the season on a winning note. Carlton 1, Digbys 1 In the first half the more favoured\ Carlton team lacked urgency and cohesion and moved slowly to the ball. The Digbys team coped better with the heavy ground, showed better combination and frequently put pressure on an unsure Carlton defence.

Digbys scored first with a high shot from the centre-forward. Chris Smith. Carlton equalised minutes before half-time when the left inner, Isobell Knight, b roke through the centre a nd
