Burnham men in team
Two soldier footballers from Burnham Camp have won places in the New Zealand Combined Services rubgy team, which is to play West Coast and Nelson-Bays next month. The players are Mark Treweek, the Christchurch club and Canterbury No. 8, and Richard Wixoh, who plays either at full-back or second five-eighths for Bumham. The 19-year-old Wixon is a Canterbury lower-grade representative. The team, which was chosen at the end of the services’ tournament in Palmerston North, also contains three prominent members of recent Marlborough sides — Peter Wallis, Tom Forrest, and Kerry Hodges. Wallis will captain the team.
