Committed for trial
A 23-year-old car salesman was committed to the Supreme Court for trial on a charge of receiving a colour television set.
At depositions taken in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Messrs R. H. Harris and M. W. Burbery, evidence was given that the defendant had asked another motor-vehicle dealer if he wanted to buy a colour television set for $4OO. The set had been taken to the friend’s home by the defendant where he was paid $4OO. When interviewed by the police the defendant admitted that he had collected the set from a Sydenham address.
