Chch squash player fights back
Barrie Matthews (Christ- ] church) knuckled down after a bad start to beat Bill Macauley (Dunedin) in the final of the Otago open .squash tournament at Dunedin on Sunday. The 19-y ear-old Canter,bury University student lost | the first play but played much more tightly and con|structively from then on to] •take the match in four. Earlier he had a tough 1 semi-final match against another Christchurch club] member, George Balani. Matthews trailed one game to two before winning the last two. In the other semi-final (Macauley beat Paul McFad]zien (Christchurch) in four ; games. ,
