Second shot at H.A.R.T.
PA Wellington Anti-apartheid groups were attacked in Parliament again on Thursday: a National Party back-bencher, Mr R. L. G. Talbot (South Canterbury) tabled a motion: “That the House express deep concern over the continuing disruptive tactics being employed by H.A.R.T., C.A.R.E. and A.C.0.R.D.” Labour countered with a notice of motion condemning the "pro-tour” attitude of the National Party. Mr Talbot call- ’ on the Labour Party, along with the three groups, to develop a responsible approach to international racial problems by “playing it coot” On Wednesday, Mr B. E. Brill (Nat., Kapiti) had referred in a notice oi motion to “unpatriotic and destructive actions by a small group of New Zealanders” which had prevented New Zealand from competing against many African countries.
In another notice of motion on Thursday, the Opposition spokesman on sport an I recreation, Mr E. E. Isbev (Grey Lynn) asked the House to deplore the actions of the National Government, and in particular those of the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon), in endorsing and encouraging the sending of the All Blacks to South Africa by giving them the Government’s “good will and blessing.”
