Carrot garden indoors
In winter, there are not many flowers in the garden to use for decorating our homes. However, a carrot garden looks unusual growing indoors <"d it is easy to make. The leaves are soft and feathery. and they remain pretty for a long time. To make your garden, you need only a few carrots and a dish. First,
slice off the top of each carrot, leaving about o.6cm of the root. Cut the leaves back to about 1.25 rn of the root. Next, put the carrots root-end downwards into a dish of water. You must have enough water to cover the bottom part of the carrots, but it should not cover the top part. The garden will look more
attractive if you place stones at the bottom of the dish and wedge the carrot roots between them. Keep the dish in a sunny place and add more water when it starts to dry up. After a few days, if the weather is not too cold, little shoots will appear, followed, a few weeks later, by the pretty leaves.
