Wee Win shows speed

Wee Win showed that he was making rapid progress in preparation for his attempt to qualify for the New Zealand Cup in November when he was successful at the Addington trials; yesterday. Wee Win is at present a; C 8 horse and he requires, two wins to be eligible for i the big 3200 m event. He will j have races to suit him at I the national meeting next| month. Wee Win was left in the; open in the early stages of {the race and Wes Butt sent him to the front at the 1800 m. He coasted along in front, but applied the pressure over the last 400 m in 29.8 and was doing his work well at the line. He took a leisurely 3:41 for the 2600 m in cold conditions, taking 1:1.6 for the final 800 m.
