Executions in Ethiopia
NZPA-Reuter Addis Ababai Loyalist Ethiopian troops have executed their commander and a junior officer caught rea-handed trying to hatch an anti-Government plot, Ethiopia’s ruling Military Council has announced. It was not immediately clear where the executions took place — the two officers were shot early on Sunday — but the arms division concerned is stationed mostly in Asmara, capital of Eritrea. The Military Council said ja Coionel Berhanu tried to I commit rebellion by casting ' doubt or the role of the armed forces in upholding I the revolution. “But the troops of the 126th Battalion took decisive I revolutionary action and' I executed him and his accom- ' plice,” it said.
