N.Z. lifter twelfth
NZPA staff correspondent Montreal; ; The New Zealand weight-1 lifter, Brian Marsden, finished twelfth yesterday in the 90 kg weight-lifting division ■at the Olympic Games. Marsden, 29. of New Plymouth, competed earlier in the B section of the division: but had to wait until later for the top-ranked lifters to post 'their totals before final plac-, ings could be determined. The New Zealander lifted 137.5 kg in the snatch and 185 kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 322.5 kg. The winner, David Rigert of Russia, lifted a total of 382.5 kg for an Olympic record. Rigert. who competed in. the New Zealand Games last year, lifted 20 kg more than; ithe silver medallist, Lee, James, of the United States. '
