Adventure series

Nearly 12 weeks after it began near Queenstown, filming of TV2’s adventure series, “Hunter’s Gold,” has now been completed. The series is about a boy’s search for his father on the harsh Otago goldfields of the 1860’s. Producing the programme called for the biggest organisation of manpower and equipment of any TV drama yet produced in New Zealand. An entire mining town set was built on the banks of the Shotover River and there was a regular cast of 20. Up to 150 extras from the Queenstown district have been used in filming. “Hunter’s Gold” will be shown on TV2 towards the end of the year.
