The rope and bottle trick
Show your audience a plastic bottle and a rope. Then turn the bottle upside down. Now, while the bottle is still in that position, push the rope in the bottle. The rope hangs there by itself. Next, hold the rope up. The bottle hangs on the rope. This is the secret. You have put a small ball of plastic clay or putty in the bottle. The ball gets stuck in the bottle neck and holds the rope there.
