Two people were taken to hospital after a bus and a car collided at the corner of Madras and Cashel Streets about 10 pan. yesterday. Those injured were the driver and front-seat passenger of the car, which was travelling north along Madras Street. The collision was with a Christchurch Transport Board bus which was travelling along Cashel Street on its way to South Brighton. Robyn Dawn Richardson Of 6 Aldersgate Street, Kaiapoi, suffered moderately serious leg injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit of Christchurch Hospital.

Sandra Diane Reach, of 10. Freebaim Street, Northcote, suffered minor head and chest injuries. She was admitted to The Princess Margaret Hospital. Their conditions were not available late last night.

The car was shunted across the intersection and finished up jammed between the bus and a traffic light stand. Damage to the bus we.s slight. No-one on the bus was injured.
