Crossing the river
This game can be played with any number. Outside is a good place, or else a large school room. A “river” is marked out with a line of oooks — exercise books or magazines can be used. The river should be about 66m wide at the narrow end, and up to 1.66 m wide at the widest end. Players start at the narrow end and do a standing jump over the river and back again. If they are successful they move further up ther river. But anyone who falls in the water drops out, and the last player is the winner. RIDDLE Why were the elephants the last animals to leave the Ark? (Answer at foot of column?). Answer to riddle. — They had to pack their trunks.
