’A Dunedin The Otago steeplechaser, E. Robertson, who is in Stockholm, was unaware of his final selection for the New Zealand Olympic team until he spoke to his wife in Dunedin yesterday afternoon. Robertson was added to the New Zealand athletic team as a result of taking 2.6 sec from his best time for the 3000 m steeplechase in a race at Stockholm en Tuesday. Robertson's inclusion was announced in Montreal yesterday by the chairman of the New Zealand Olympic selectors and general manager of the New Zealand team, Mr W. J. Holley. Mr Holley said he selected Robertson without reference to the two other selectors in New Zealand, but did so "on the basis of discussions we had before I left New Zealand." Robertson will run in a 1500 m race at Zurich tomorrow or Saturday before arriving in Montreal on Monday.
