Ground rebate of $850
An $B5O rebate from the ground charges paid by the Linwood Rugby Club for the Fergle McCormick farewell match was egreed to by the Victory Park Board at their meeting on Monday evening. The net takings from the game were $9293. More than $5OOO was spent by the club on travel for the team members. The Linwood club was left with $lB7O after all expenses, of which they had promised $5OO to the St John Ambulance for the purchase of new equipment. The board decided to grant the rebate to the club although some members suggested that perhaps the grant should go directly to the St John Ambulance. The board also decided to review the cost of the equipment wanted by St John Ambulance to see if a further grant was required.
