Trial timber export to M.E.

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA. Two Rotorua timber companies have joined forces to fill a large order for the Middle East which could be worth $2 million and may open the way to a continuing market in that area. Negotiations which have been going on for 14 months, were completed this week by Onehunga Timber Holdings, Ltd, through its subsidiary, Rotorua Timber Company, Ltd, for the supply of sawn timber in dried processed form. Mr B. G. Edwards, general manager of the Onehunga timber company, said today the negotiations had been carried out through a Canadian company which has timber yards and offices in the Middle East, for the supply of four shipments of New Zealand Pinus radiata and Corsican pine on charter vessels for construction projects in the Middle East.
