Player makes N.Z. team
Murray Irwin (Cashmere High School), who missed selection for the Canterbury secondary ■ schoolboys’ water polo team, is one of six players from the province chosen for the national team. Irwin played in goal for a composite team over Easter at the national tournament in Wellington, the team including players from areas without teams at the tournament. The other Canterbury players chosen were Matt Lewis — selected for the third time — Chris Lewis, Derek Ferigo (all Christchurch Boys’ High School), John Davie (Burnside) and Eddy Smulders (St Thomas’s! College). The other six players to I travel to Victoria and New South Wales, to compete ini the annual “test” series against New South Wales 1 Combined High School, are | from 'Wellington. They are!
