The publication of the environmental impact audit on •i the Waiau Plains irrigation scheme has been embargoed i until April 22 by the Comi mission for the Environ:ment, until its study by the , Water and Soil Division of (the Ministry of Works. 11 Its release is scheduled (only four days before appeals against the Crown water right, issued by the (National Water and Soil I Conservation Authority, are I heard in Christchurch on i April 26. | The appeals will be heard before the No. 2 Town and Country Planning Appeal I Board in the City Council (Chambers at 2.15 pm. The i appellants include the CheI viot County Council, the I North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, the Environmental Defence Society, and the Salmon Anglers’ Association.
