Prince’s jibe at women’s lib

Two British women memibers of Parliament have hit j back at Prince Charles for j labelling women’s liberation jmi li tants as “idiotic • women.” The 27-year-old heir to the (British Throne made the re's mark in an interview with I the New York magazine (“Good Housekeeping” to (whom he said: “These idiotic women who go around telling al! the other women to think the way they do — basically, I think because they want to be men — are, to my mind, totally wrong. “I think a lot of women forget that bringing up children is one of the greatest responsibilities that any woman can have.” Jo Richardson, a woman Labour member of Parliament. said Prince Charles’s remarks were a “stupid snub to a very great number of worth-while people.” She added: “It confirms |my belief that the Royal ! Family and their circle are really out of touch with ’things.” Another Labour member ’ of Parliament, Gwyneth Duni woody, commented: “When She grows up, perhaps his ‘views will not only be based ‘on a more accurate under- ■ standing of life’s problems, but also of women.”
