Climber’s condition satisfactory
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, April 19.
The condition of Lindsay Bell, aged 19, of 11 IB Bay View Road, Dunedin, who sustained chest injuries on the Douglas Neve in the Westland National Park on Sunday afternoon, was described by the Timaru Hospital authorities this evening as satisfactory. Another member of the party received treatment for a deep gash to his arm from an ice axe. The accident involving Mr Bell occurred below Welcome Pass on the western side of the Main Divide, when a snow bridge collapsed and he fell into a crevasse.
