Six groups are critical
(N.Z. Press Association; AUCKLAND, April 19. Six groups have criticised Mr Muldoon’s promise of cooperation between France and New Zealand in the Pacific. Representatives of C.A.R.E., the Student Christian Movement, Greenpeace, Ecology Action, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and the Auckland University Student’s Association have issued a combined statement which condemns Mr Muldoon’s acceptance that French Pacific territories will remain part of France. “We do not accept that France or New Zealand have any right to determine the political or economic future of these territories, tyhere the indigenous people are struggling for independence,” they said.
