Dead man hit with bottle
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A man died after apparently being hit on the head with a beer bottle outside the Pioneer Tavern in Heni derson late on Wednesday (night It was thought he was (attacked shortly after closing time. According to reports, he lay on the ground for some time, being ignored by the passing crowds. Finally, a motorist stopped his car, examined the man. and reported his find to the police. The man was lying in a pool of blood surrounded by broken glass. It is understood the police were looking for a number of Polynesians.
