Cold war poetry

The Right-wing “Dail Mail” stung by Russian ai tacks on the Conservative party leader, Margaret Thatcher. is offering its readers vodka as prizes in a Cold War poetry’ contest. As inspiration, the London newspaper printed a poem by an unnamed “Tory poet" attacking the Soviet leader. Mr Leonid Brezhnev, w hit h i began:
“Dear Brezhnev, mighty Czar. What a rotten bard you are. You cannot rhyme, you cannot scan. Heaven help your five-year plan." The poem was in reply to a verse in the Soviet satirical magazine. "Krokodil." attacking Mrs Thatcher. That effort began:
“Lady Thatcher. Con servative chief. Stamping and strutting, gnashing her teeth
