BRITISH PLEDGE TO N.Z.
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Crspdt) LONDON, April 15. The new British Government of Mr James Callaghan today pledged its whole-hearted support for satisfactory arrangements with the' European Economic Community for New Zealand. Mr Callaghan made the pledge during an hourlong discussion with the New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon). Mr Muldoon said later. “He was most forthcoming, and very generous in his personal commitment.” Mr Callaghan had indicated that he would not relax the efforts his predecessor, Mr Harold Wilson, had made to ensure a satisfactory deal for New Zealand.
