Manson followers sentenced

Convicted of conspiring to mail death-threat letters, and of threatening violence in] telephone calls to three! radio stations, Sandra Good, aged 31. a follower of Charles Manson, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. A co-defendant, Susan Murphy, aged 33, an alcoholic and self-described “sister i n Charles Manson’s Church.” was sentenced to five years. In one of the last of heri frequent outbursts during: the trial. Good, a former: room-mate of the would-be: Presidential assassin, Ly-| nette Frome. shouted: “Look: at you 1 * civilised society, and: see your criminals walking: free. There is Lieutenant! Calley, who killed 102; women and children, and there s Nixon, who sold out your country. “In your civilised society, you do not believe in God any more. You will soon lose your minds.” The two women had said that the threatening letters were part of their “fervent attempts to rid the world of environmental pollution." •‘Your head is in the: sand.” Good shouted at the judge as she was escorted to the cells.
