Bold new sex advice plan starts

fN Z Press Association) LONDON. Plans to cut the number of unwanted pregnancies in Britain now include a “volunteer youth movement” to put young people in touch wih advice on sexual problems. The idea for young volun- : teers has come from the I Family Planning Association. : which wants to see organised teams of teenagers touring schools, pubs, and youth clubs throughout Britain within the next 10 years. Pilot schemes have already begun in and around London and the association holds courses where young volunteers ' are trained in answering the questions they might face. A spokesman said many teenagers with problems did not want to go to teachers lor parents for advice but it was hoped they would listen to the volunteers, who must Ibe over 16, who spoke to Ithem on their own “wavelength.” He emphasised the volunteers would not be giving advice but telling the i youngsters where to go for help. However, one school in North London has already banned the youth volunteers after a teacher complained that they used “lavatory language” in the discussions.

The association has said its volunteers can make no progress if they use Latin terms when the youngsters understand only the slang expressions.
