“BIG BROTHER, LITTLE SISTER” I protest about "Big Brother, Little Sister.” It was a dreadful slur on our Maori people. A certain amount of this goes on, but why make a picture of it? Why of Maoris — why not of white New Zealanders, for in some homes they too carry on that way. What good would a picture like that do? It could not be called entertaining. When our youth are so prone to violence, why make a picture like that? It is more likely to make bad feeling between our brown brothers and sisters. If we showed a bit of love we might do some good. Belittling the Maoris only makes them resentful. They have a heritage to be proud of. Whatever is wrong with Maoris is what we have taught them, our vices. I hope I never see a picture like that again. If so, I will refuse to pay my TV licence, on principle.—B. J. KNUDSEN.
