A 63 bedroom complex with two restaurants, extensive conference facilities toaether with an adjoining tavern operation. This is a new challenging executive position. The successful applicant will be responsible within the bounds of corporate policy to the General Manager to do whatever is necessary to ensure our client's investment is profitable. Ideally the man should have a proven record in the accommodation and food industry preferably with some overseas experience. In practice, however the four essential elements of the job could come from an ollied industry. These are: • Manager Motivation — It will be essential for the successful applicant to demonstrate that he can get results through people • Marketing Expertise — The ability to determine what the customer wants and to sell it at a profit by the use of a variety of marketing techniques, plus the ability to maximise the potential of the unit's resources. • Staff Training and Development — Because of the labour intensive nature of the industry it will be necessary to continually emphasise this facet. • Financial Management — Which includes an understanding of budget preparation, profit and financial analysis, purchasing techniques and cost control.
