Ihe audited group net trading profit of Wattie Industries, Ltd, excluding equity profits <or the six months to January .31, rose 43.5 per cent to S4.lm the directoi- report. Sales revenue rose 4.1 per cent to 8109.9 m, but the ne> profit on sales rose from 2.7 per cent to 3 S oe> cent. Ihe return on shareholders funds as at the end of the six months was 4.8 per cent for the halfyear, compared with 4.7 ier cent for the previous corresponding half-year. An increased interim dividend of 3.5 c a share (7 per cent) will be paid on June 2. ex-dividend May Is ihe interim rate last year was .3c a share. In order to conform with the present interpretation of the 1 rustee Amendment Act, 1974, 2.5 c of the ordinary dividend will be paid from revenue resources, and the balance of the dividends will bv way of te" ? distributions from share premium reserves.
