ALLEN, Secretary. 7913 WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953 PROPOSED CHANGES UNDER SECTION 29 OF THE REVIEWED DISTRICT SCHEME WHICH BECAME OPERATIVE ON SEPTEMBER 1, 1974 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT PURSUANT TO A RESOLUTION OF THE WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL MADE ON DECEMBER 15. 1975. THE COUNCIL RESOLVED TO INITIATE CHANGES TO THE OPERATIVE DISTRICT SCHEME UNDER SECTION 29 OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT, 1953. THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED CHANGES: CHANGE No. 11 METRICATION OF DISTRICT SCHEME Delete all imperial units in the District Scheme and substitute their metric equivalents with the exception of the minimum side yard requirements relating to residential buildings in all residential and rural zones. The equivalent metric units to be rounded off where appropriate. CHANGE No. 12 SIDE YARDS RELATING TO BUILDINGS OTHER THAN ACCESSORY BUIDINGS IN RESIDENTIAL AND RURAL ZONES The minimum side yards on front lots and all yards on rear lots to be increased from 5 feet to 1.8 metres (sft Ilin) with a height control line of 65 deg. to the horizontal from the side boundaries of a front lot or any boundary of a rear lot within which the main building shall be contained and with provision for encroachments into the yards by eaves, chimneys, bay windows, porches or windbreaks and external stairways. Details of the Changes have been deposited at the Council Offices at the corner of Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, Fendalton, in accordance with Section 30A (4) (a) (ii) of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1953, and shall be open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein when the above place is open to the public. Objections to the Changes or any part thereof shall be in writing on Form “E” prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations, 1960, and shall be lodged only at the Office of the Waimairi Countv Council at any time not later than 4 p.m. on June 4. 1976. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any persons who wish to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the Hearing of Objections after he notifies the County Clerk in writing within the period of which Public Notice will be given.
