MECHANCAL SUPERINTENDENT TONGA THE MINISTRY OF. FOREIGN AFFAIRS is seek ing applications under New Zealand's bilateral aid programme for the position of mechanical super intendent for a mechanical services project in Tonga for a period of two years. DUTIES: Supervision of all matters pertaining to the operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment for which the Ministrv of Works has responsibility. This includes light and heavy vehicles, and plant and equipment for reading, building and agriculture. The Ministrv of Works also has responsibility for the efficient operation of equipment of other government and semi government establishments including: hospital boilers, air conditioning, laundry and kitchen equipment, refrigeration plant and airport fa< ilit ies. The appointee would be responsible to the Director of Works. Tonga Ministrv of Works, and in addition to the above would be required to <<> ordinate training proarammes in mechanical set vices at all levels within the Tongan Ministrv of Works. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should hold REA and relevant ttad® qualifications and should have wide experience in the administration and management of a mechanical maintenance organisation An ability to liaise with senior officials in a variety nf disciplines and to control and direct subordinate staff is essential Applications from both single and married candidates will be considered.
