Good year for Smith-Biolab

Ltd, AuckI a n d pharmaceutical group, rose 16.3 per cent to $287,608 in the year to January 31, the directors say in a pre!: -.inary report. This represents an earning rate on capital of 38 per cent. The result continues a steady growth pattern for the economy, a growth which has been assisted recently by a plant modernisation programme. A final tax-free dividend of 4.5 c a share (9 per cent) makes a steady annual rate of 7c a share (14 per cent).
