The president of the Federation of Labour (Sir Thomas Skinner) has gained support for his criticism of the long Parliamentary recess from the April edition of the “New Zealand Building Economist.” In a leading article called “New Zealand the way who wants it?”, the publication says that the Government’s actions at a time when Pariliament is not in session give cause for concern. The article says that New Zealand is entering an era of more presidential-style government. citing as examples the “unconstitutional repeal of the New Zealand Superannuation Scheme and the creation of the Prime Minister’s office as a source of authoritative direction.”
