Ferry talks to resume
(N.Z. Press Association* WELLINGTON. April 13. Negotiations between the Railways Department and the maritime unions on the manning of the WellingtonPicton rail ferries will resume next week. [ The Minister of Railways (Mr McLachlan) said talks were held today. They were -amicable, and there had been !no hint of industrial action. Automobile associations (want unions to give 24 hours notice before they stop ferry sailings because of industrial action. Last night, the Wellington association supported a move by the New Zealand Automobile Association to induce the unions to give advance warning of strike action.
