Flannel, in the shades of blue, grey, camel and brown, is the most fashionable cloth type for men’s suits this winter, according to Lane Walker Rudkin, Ltd. Styles include patch pockets, and stitched edgings are becoming an important

feature. Crossbred tweeds and imported “game-feather” fabrics in 100 per cent wool, in checks — but more subdued this year — are also strong. In these, brown, green and blue-grey are the important colours. They are in

single-breasted two-button styles with flap pockets and sometimes an additional ticket pocket to give a fashionable look. In sports coats, the most important theme for this winter is the coloured blazer. Brown, gold, bottle green, mid-blue,

royal blue and burgundy are all being worn. And trousers? These are in 100 per cent wool and wool blends, plain and subtle checks being the strongest look. Brown, blue, green and grey are the colours to watch for.
