Sellers weaken firm Australian market

Although firmer earlier, Australian sharemarkets showed signs of weakening towards the close as sellers began to dominate trading yesterday.

B. fell 6c to 744 c and T.N.T., Hooker, Tooth, Myers and Horizon eased. Australian Guarantee slumped 10c to 180 c, but C.S.R. Penfolds, Coles, Jennings and Elders G.M. moved ahead. Comalco rose 7c to 182 c and E.Z. industries 10c to 360 c. A special sa,le of 219,832 Selby shares at 125 c attracted attention on the Sydney Stock Exchange. The price was 15c above current market levels. Among the miners, iron ore producers Robe River and Hamersley were strongly supported on expectations of a firming of demand by the end of this year, and each closed 5c better. C. Bougainville, Poseidon, Mt. Lyell and Emperor rose up to 5c each, but Utah, Queensland Mines, Peko-Wallsend and M.I.M. eased. Although Utah was depr-
