Wool up 2½ p.c. on second day of sale
(N.Z Frets Assoctationt NAPIER, March 19. The market at the second day of the Napier wool sale today was officially quoted as 2} per cent dearer for full fleece and combined oddments.
Lambs wool was in sellers’ favour, and short oddments were 2 A to 5 per cent dearer than on Wednesday, when the sale began. Compared with the Napier auction in February prices for full fleece were up to 15 per cent dearer; for oddments. 15 to 174 per cent
[dearer; and for lambs’ wool, |7J to 10 per cent dearer. The main competition came from East and West Europe, with support from New Zealand mills. The offering of 22,795 bales showed the effects of the wet season, with discolouration evident. The official range of prices is:—
