(N Z Press Association) LONDON. An Aucklander who is in Brl tain and determined to break new ground for New Zealand horsewomen is 23-ycar-old Miss Lynn Francis. Lynn, the treasurer of the Auckland District Lady Riders* Association hopes to ride against male jockeys in an amateur race while she is here. It would be a unique experience for her, as lady riders in New Zealand are only allowed to race against men in nwrbetting barrier trials Lynn gave up her school leaching in favour of horses when she arrived here on a one way ticket earlier this year and she says she has no definite plans for returning to New Zealand “I'm staying with friends on a farm in Shropshire and have been riding out and sihoolmg there.’’ she said “I hope to be working with ponies in Jersey over the next couple of months and while I’m here I’d like Io travel the whole countrv with horses ’’ Lynn is a winner of l"» point to point races in N» ’.v Zealand and. although she has not vet done so. hopes to compete in Britain.
