Water skiers doing well
The small team of Canterbury water skiers at the national championships on Blue Lake. Rotorua, figured prominently in events on the first day yesterday.
Shelley Deans had a sizeable lead in the junior girls' slalom event and Gary Coates went to the third buoy on the first shortening in the boys’ slalom to hold a commanding lead. Jack Gallagher and Brian Murray were both wellplaced in the senior men's slalom and Stephen Murray
