Brighton to play reserves
New Brighton Mill have only three of the 13 players it used against Christchurch United last Sunday —and one of these for only half a game—for its semifinal of the floodlight soccer tournament against Rangers at Rangers Park tonight. Three of its senior squad— Paul Glasson, Robert Wilson, and Alan Smith — are injured, and another seven aie being rested for Brighton’s vital match against Caver, sham in the Air New Zealand regional final at Dunedin on Sunday. The three players retained from the squad which upset United. 1-0, last week-end are Harrv Rule, who scored the all-important onlv goal, and the two second-half replacements, Stan Woolascroft and Johan Verweii. Rule will play onlv in the first half “We just cannot afford to suffer more injuries before the Caversham match.” the Brighton manager. Terry Seacy, said last evening "I have explained the situation to the Rangers president, Mike Shardlow, and he is perfectly satisfied.” It means that Rangers, th* Broadlands Southern League title-holder, will start a strong favourite to go through ■to its own tournament final, probably to meet United, which will play Wool, ston W.M.C. in the early semi-final this evening
