Twin centenarians
While the United States is celebrating its 200th birthday, the Northrop twin sisters of New Britain, Connecticut, are marking their one-hundreth. Edith and Edda Northrop Gibney are being cited by the town of their birth, Windsor, with the presentation of bicentennial medals. The sisters attribute their longevity to “a preference for vegetables, early bedItime hours, and being brought (up in an era less hectic than (today’s world.” Miss Edda [Northrop is quoted as saying: “You know, I don’t want to [live another 100 years, and I 1 certainly don’t want to live las long as Methuselah."— iNew Britain.
