LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8. The New Zealand runner, Rod Dixon, came from behind yesterday to win the mile at an athletics meeting at the indoor track in Los Angeles.

Dixon took the front at the final turn to beat the American, Paul Cummings, previously unbeaten this season.

Dixon’s sprint carried him home in a time of 4min o.2sec. Cummings was timed at 4min o.9sec. Dixon won the race as John Walker, the world's fastest miler, cheered him home from the sidelines. Dixon said he was a little disappointed in his time.
