(X.Z. Press Association)

DUNEDIN.

The Waimakariri (Christchurch) club member, Mel Sehvood, made it two in a row when he again won the New Zealand international Moth class championships which ended on the Otago Harbour on Saturday.,

Coming in as the defending champion, Selwood, who competed at the world series in Japan last year, convincingly won all six races of this year’s championship series from his club-mates, Andy Holland and Tony Blanchard.

Final points for the series, with the yachtsmen’s worst performance not counted, showed Seiwood had 3} points (lost) to Holland’s 14 and Blanchard’s 18. Seiwood won the final race of the series on Saturday, sailed in a light 4-6 knot south-westerly breeze, by Imin 40sec from Holland, with Blanchard third. The first local boat home was that of Vauxhall’s Peter Nees.

j Nees led at the wing mark and had 30sec in hand at the first marker with Peter McLeay (Waimak.) second land Blanchard third. I Nees held his lead on the : next two legs but, on the beat up to the mark on the windward-leeward round, lost his lead to Seiwood, with McLeay coming ■' through to second place at this stage. Seiwood never relinquished his lead for the rest of the race and the battle was for the minor placings. On the last triangle McLeay had a gear failure and fell out ot contention. This allowed Blanchard to

come through for second, behind Seiwood, with Holland moving up to third.

On the final beat, Holland finally weathered Blanchard to follow Seiwood over the line, with a further 40sec back to Blanchard.

Soccer.—An Australian XI fought back from two goals; down to draw 2-2 with the touring Yugoslav team, Velez] Mostar, in a match marred by) off-field political fervour in Sydney

Bowls.—C. Flavell’s Turangi team won the 1976 New Zealand Maori open fours bowling title at Taumaninui on Saturday. Flavcil beat T. Wright (Ariai in the final.
