More than 100 homes lost) Their roofs in a savage 20I minute hailstorm. accom-‘ panied by winds of 80 kilometres an hour which struck the Queensland country town of Toowoomba, 135 km west of Brisbane. Scores of residents were treated for minor lacerations caused when hailstones, believed to be as large as cricket balls, smashed windows and crashed through roofs.
