DUTIES: The Matron is responsible to the Director of Health for supervising the nursing and domestic staff of a 30 bed general and maternity hospital. A new maternity annex of 10 beds is at present under construction and will come under the Matron’s supervision when, completed. The Matron will also have nurse education and some general and obstetrical nursing duties. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be reg is tered New Zealand nurses and preference will be given to those who are also regis-tered midwives or who have a post-graduate nursing diploma. SALARY AND ALLOWANCES: The appointment will be at either of the following rates plus adjustment allowance — $4445 plus $2843 or $4640 plus $2847. A location allowance of $1269 per annum is paid. FURLOUGH: There is an entitlement of two days furlough on full pay for each complete month of service. GENERAL: Accommodation is provided in a modem flat; full board is $8.25 per week.
