Its aim is to help individual enterprises make better use of their resources — materials, machines, money and the skills of people. THE CENTRE’S PROGRAMME to date has included: establishing 25 independent productivity groups throughout the country; sponsoring interfirm comparisons for 17 industry groups; conducting workshop sessions on productivity topics, particularly in provincial centres; publishing periodicals and literature on productivity topics; maintaining a field liaison service for New Zealand industry; implementing an information programme to increase awareness of the need for productivity improvement. THE APPOINTEE will be located in the Head Office of the Centre within the Department of Trade and Industry in Wellington. The appointee will work with a small and enthusiastic team, and will have ample scope to develop a personal contribution and put this into practice. Duties will include the planning and execution of the Centre’s information programme; preparation of press releases and feature articles; liaison with overseas productivity organisations on a systematic basis; assisting with the development of the productivity group movement; exercising control over the production of material commissioned by the • Centre.
