Recreation subsidies

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Jan. 9 Subsidies worth $35,000 towards recreational projects in the Christchurch area have been announced by the Minister of Recreation and Sport (Mr Highet). A subsidy of $lO,OOO was approved for the Canterbury Table Tennis Association to build a new stadium in Pages Road, and $25,000 was approved for the Canterbury Aged People’s Welfare Council to buy recreational centres. .

The subsidies were made on the recommendation of the Christchurch Regional and Metropolitan Recreational and Sport Consultative Committee.
