China fetes Eisenhowers

The Chinese leaders have decided to give the fullest publicity to the visit to Peking of Julie Eisenhower, the daughter of former President Richard Nixon, and her husband, David. The "People’s Daily,” the! Communist Party newspaper, has announced the showing ! of a colour documentary film; of their meeting with Chair-; man Mao Tse-tung on; December 31. The film is being shown throughout the! country. Made at the Central Documentary and News Studios, it has the title “Chairman Mao meets his guests. Julie and David.” Informed sources have said that the meeting lasted 45 minutes and was a cour- ; tesy visit with no political: discussions taking place. In its reports of the meeting, the New China News Agency said that Chairman Mao had sent his regards to the former President and invited him to visit China! again. ;
