Values of stamps from 6c
f.V Z Press Association f WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. Values of the 1976 commemorative stamps have not been affected by the change in postal rates.
The stamps, which will be released on February 4, bear[the new postal rates of 6c. 7c. Bc. 10c, and 25c. "The value is normally put on two months before issue, and the Post Office had the 1 1 about Government’s wam■ng of six months ago that (postage rates would be going tup.” said Mr W. K. Shirley. i*he Acting Chief Postmaster [ in Wellington. Values are overprints on I the stamps — not part of the [design, which is submitted to the printer 18 months in advance.
The five new stamps were [designed by Allan Derrick, of Invercargill, and depict the fiftieth anniversary of the League of 2»lothers (6c), the change to metrics (7c). the centenarv of New Plymouth (8c). the fiftieth anniversary of the Y.M.C.A. in New Zealand (10c). and the centenary ■ f New Zealand’s association with the international telecommunications network (25c).
