Further gains made on Australian market
Share prices advanced across the board in quiet trading on the Australian stock exchange yesterday, for the third day in succession.
Despite some easiness among leading oils under profit-taking pressure, miners and selected industrials recorded their best gains in weeks. B.H.P. rose 6c to 720 c. and E.Z. Industries 15c to 325 c. Financiers, banks, pastorals, sugars and retailers, and most brewers and properties, shared in the upsurge. Grace Bros advanced 8c to
230 c, while Waltons picked up 5c at 130 c. Pioneer Sugar and Bundaberg gained 5c each. Philip Morris touched 1050 c, beating its 1975 peak, for a 20c gain.
